How to Apply

Complete each of the four steps below to apply for a Cyprus Credit Union college scholarship.

Watch each of the seven videos in Cyprus Credit Union’s Personal Finance Series.

Read and work through the Cyprus Credit Union Spending Plan Workbook (download here). Here, you will use what you’ve learned from the personal finance videos to make a financial plan for your time in college. Fill in the fillable fields on pages 2–5 of the workbook and save your work as a PDF. You will upload your workbook later while completing step 4.

Record a video of yourself addressing this question: Now that you've viewed the Cyprus personal finance videos and created a spending plan, how will you use what you've learned to help secure financial success during your college experience?

Remember:

  • Be creative and have fun!
  • Present yourself in a professional manner.
  • Keep the video between 1 and 5 minutes long.

You will upload the video later while completing step 4.

Selection Process

The Scholarship Committee, based on the quality of the application and materials provided, will select scholarship recipients. Simply completing an application with all it’s component parts, does not guarantee an award even if there are fewer than 10 applicants. The committee reserves the right to award as many or as few scholarships as meet it’s criteria. All scholarship applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decision on or about May 15 if not before. Up to 10 - $2,000 scholarships may be awarded. If an applicant is a dependent or employee of Cyprus Credit Union, an independent committee will select from those applicants and up to four of the total scholarships may be awarded to Cyprus dependents. Applications must be received by mail or email between April 1 and April 30th at 11:59 p.m.

Please Note:

Scholarship recipients will receive a single check made payable to themselves AND their prospective college, university, or trade school. If not used within 30 months, Cyprus Credit Union reserves the right to award the scholarship to a different applicant. Deferrals may be requested for those not planning to attend college directly after high school graduation.
